We take a different approach and offer support rather than a handout: we develop Haitian leaders, help them build profitable local businesses, and use the income those businesses generate to feed children and serve their own communities.

Feeding hunger and hope

We believe it’s important to not only offer food, but to offer a brighter future. A meal may offer sustenance for the day, but education and career opportunities offer sustainability for a lifetime. Today, our four Haitian-run bakeries and the Elevating Chicken Farm employ 45 Haitians, and the bread they produce feeds 32,572 children at 131 schools every day.

WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?
It Started with Bread in Haiti

“When we decided to help on a larger scale, I immediately thought about my mother. I was brought up in a house where my mom would buy wheat in buckets, and she would grind the wheat and bake bread every day. Breads made from fresh-ground ingredients contain every essential vitamin and nutrient that the human body needs. I knew we had to start by feeding these children and baking nutritous bread.”

Our Leadership
