Local businesses built by Haiti, for Haiti.

Our focus on jumpstarting businesses and employing Haitians is a key part to feeding children. The cycle of hunger in Haiti is perpetuated by the interwoven problems of education, leadership, and hunger. When we invest in each of these initiatives, we witness young people getting the education they need to enter the workforce and provide for their family and community.

Today, ECM operates four bakeries — in Gonaïves, Cap-Haïtien, Les Cayes and Île-à-Vache — and the Elevating Chicken Farm in Gonaïves, employing 45 Haitians. The bakeries sell traditional white Haitian bread for a profit, and that income helps produce the whole wheat bread our feeding program gives to 32,572 children every day. Use the map below to see where our businesses operate.
